Wow, just found this. Sharing as much as possible. So many out there still think he’s just a clown.

They’re waking up, but more need to wake up faster!

I just finished the movie. It blew me away. I will be contemplating it for days to come. So well made, so frightening, so real. A minor masterpiece. I can’t thank you enough. I am following you, Oliver Markus Malloy.

In what way?

Christofascist MAGA Nazis want to exterminate gay and trans people, just like German Nazis did. Fascists use lies as a weapon, to demonize minorities and incite hate and violence.

That link is a short video. It shows clips of a whole bunch of Republicans literally saying that that's what they want to do. On the same page, below the video, are about a dozen news articles about Republican politicians saying the same thing as the Republicans in the video. MAGA = NAZI. It's literally the same ideology of hate.

Respectfully Brad, if trump decides to adopt the rather strict Old Testament recommendations formulated by the Heritage Foundation for a trump 2024 transition of power, it seems women and certainly gays will find their hard-earned progress pretty much wiped-out. I’m talking about Project 2025. This is being touted as the GOP governing manifesto. Have you read it yet?

We're just in the early stages. The Nazi regime in the early to middle 1930s was a lot more benign than what occurred in the late 1930s to mid-1940s. Once they start, these fascist regimes get much worse with time.

Great read Oliver. Trump understands Hitler's realization that the absolute path to real power is don't break the rules. Play by the rules, get elected, and then change the rules legally so you can't be removed. Then do whatever suits you, such as consolidating power, followed by the requisite purges. Unfortunately for Trump he lost the election. This time around we might not be so lucky.

This piece nailed it! I've said all along that maga is nazi. Americans MUST defeat trump in the 2024 election and then be ready to resist his relentless lies, cheating, and maga threats of violence. Fascism is here. I wrote a piece called 'Dangerous Donald' in 2015. It's worst then I anticipated. I will share this piece widely. Wake up because this is not a drill. trump has already killed over a million Americans due to his incompetent handling of the COVID pandemic. How many more would dieif he were to become president again? He's told everyone what he will do In a second term. Save the democracy and vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Then, vote blue down ballot to take back the House majority and hold the majority in the Senate. Do this for your country. Fear is not an option, not at this stage. #HarrisWalz2024 🇺🇸

Wow, I can't believe you first wrote this in 2019. I wasn't following you then, but would have agreed 100% then, and of course, I do now. We didn't even know anything about Project 2025 then but the parallels are so obvious for anyone who knows history. Having grown up in Germany and moving here at 19 in 1989, I felt exactly the same way about the US. I also became an American Citizen and I cried during the ceremony because I felt I was home. While we have many problems I love that it still is this amazing melting pot where you have the freedom to be who you want to be. But all over this great country our freedoms are being eroded by the "Christian" fascists. Their advancement has been shocking and saddening to me. I feel disheartened by the reach the misinformation media have over the low information voters and I feel powerless to stop this deranged MAGA train from barreling into the abyss. Our voices need to grow stronger and louder and be heard in more places. We can't convert the MAGAs but we can try and reach the uninformed.

Hi, OMM. I read this ages ago and just revisited it. It’s still terrifying how one mimics the other. With the election 40+ day away, my strong belief that women will choose the winner gets a little shaky. I do, though, have faith that women will turn out in numbers never before seen and will choose the next president.

Thanks for all you so with your various personae. 💖

Thanks Margit! Yeah, I'm right there with you: I hope women are gonna save America.

But after seeing how successful Putin was at financing and promoting the far-right AfD party in Germany, I'm nervous. The AfD is a neo-nazi fringe party that only got about 2% of the vote 2 or 3 years ago. Now they're the second strongest party in Germany. It's insane!

They're even the #1 party in some East German states, where Russian influence is still very strong from the time Russia ruled East Germany.

Putin and his minions follow the same playbook in every western democracy: spread toxic lies to undermine democracy, promote hate against immigrants, and then encourage angry people to vote for Putin's far right party.

It works every time. Even here in the US. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and holding my breath until the election. We need Kamala to win!

What they’re doing to Springfield, OH, is obscene.

I used to be in Europe regularly. Didn’t know it had gotten that bad. I thought Germany was smarter. Alas. I think Putin is a little smarter than the Liar. 🤥 and the liar is losing it mentally. He listens to no one and can’t stick to a script or plan. That, too may help us.

Thanks for all you are doing. 🥰

This piece explains why MAGA officials want to “cleanse” our educational institutions of all references to slavery and racism. Without knowledge of history, people will believe MAGA (Nazi) lies.

Great article and terrifying. I have two brothers with whom I can no longer discuss politics. They tell ME that I am being brainwashed by the “libtards” and I need to wake up and see what is happening in the US. They believe the rhetoric spewed by Trump and it is truly scary.

It is astounding to me that so many can't/won't see the obvious danger Trump and his acolytes present.

The MAGA movement has so many parallels to the Nazi movement, which had plenty of sympathizers in the US (including in Congress) in the 1930's. Now we see that those beliefs went underground, but they never went away.

So Hitler was heavily influenced by the formation of the KKK here. In many ways you can argue that nazism was born here in the US.

I was born and raised in Germany and I didn't learn about the Holocaust until moving to the states because of the German shame of it all. I never knew what a Nazi was, and even though I had heard of Hitler, in relation to East and West Germany, having some distant family on the Eastern side, I knew very little about anything of substance until moving to the states and then asked my mom, Oma, Tante and Onkels for actual real life experiences.

After witnessing exactly what you describe here, the outright, blatant and passive racism that was a part of daily life and even part of casual conversations was shocking. Seeing flags, t-shirts, tattoos proudly displaying swastikas was breathtaking and heartbreaking that anyone could be proud or supportive of that horrified me.

I saw the signs when the lies started that he saw Muslims celebrating on 9/11 and his birther lies. I never imagined he would have gained such a massive following.

The idea that such a massive amount of people could be brainwashed into hating so many people out of manufactured fear is terrifying but that they can't even see the identical tactics used boggles the mind.

Great post, Oliver. I lived in Austria in the mid-1980’s and met a lot of people who were in their 20’s & 30’s during the war. It made for interesting discussions. Also visited some pretty horrific war sites, then later in my adult life began reading a lot about that period. When Trump rode down the escalator in 2015, I had alarm bells going off in my head and my friends thought I was overreacting. Your post explained more clearly and directly (and from the perspective of a German-born citizen, no less) what I tried to convey to them. You are right…so many Americans just don’t understand the threat. I worry for the young people of America.
