The belief that only they are right and therefore special isn't conducive to the compromise and group harmony of Democracy. It's more like the Leader hands down the word from above.
I totally agree with this. IMHO, religion is little more than organized superstition - usurped by those who seek power, and the most extreme versions of it is little more than a form of insanity.
